Steps to renew the vehicle fitness certificate online

• Earlier, the renewal of the vehicle fitness certificate was offline. The technology evolution has offered various services online and a lot more convenient to complete the process.
• Car owners can now renew their vehicle’s fitness certificate from the comfort of their homes and a computer or smartphone.
• Here follows the steps:

1. Go to the official PARIVAHAN SEWA website at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.
2. Go to the Vehicle-Related Services tab.
3. Click on “More” under the “Other Services” option.
4. Click on “More Details” in the “Fitness” option.
5. Select the name of the State
6. Enter REGISTRATION NUMBER and RTO and then click “Proceed”.
7. Choose the “Application for Fitness Certificate” option and enter all the details.
8. Once submitted, an OTP will be generated for the applicant that needs to be entered.
9. Click on “Payment” to complete the fitness certificate renewal process and make the payment for the fee online.

Steps for Offline Renewal

1.  Visit the RTO where the vehicle is registered or any RTO nearest to you.
2. Ask for a fitness certificate renewal application form and fill in the requested information.
3.  Attach all the documents asked for in the renewal form.
4.  Submit the form and the documents and make the payment for the renewal fees at the RTO.
5. The date and time will be assigned on which the vehicle must be brought into the inspection center. 
6. If the inspection is successful, the fitness certificate will be renewed.
